We can offer support for your child(ren) during your mediation process and beyond. Giving your child a voice at this difficult time is important to you as a family and can be extremely beneficial to your separation journey. Parental divorce and separation can cause your children to experience difficulties in their own relationships generally, particularly at school, with their peers and with step parents.
This service is designed to empower children and young people to be able to express their wishes and feelings to a mediator who is trained in Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM). The sessions are confidential to the young person and mediator and It is important that any feedback from this session given to the parents is used in a constructive way and is not used to blame one another or the young person.
The Cooperative Parenting Intervention-(COPING) programme has been devised through many years of research and with working with families and young people to assist them with coping strategies to manage trauma and difficulties that have arisen through parental separation. It is not mediation but is a full frank programme that is reliant of transparency and being able to restore the breakdown in the relationship(s), to identify and repair any harm caused and to ‘work with’ the family, to rebuild relationships and support them in achieving a positive outcome- whatever this may be.
This programme is a relationship based approach and is designed to ‘repair’ any harm suffered in order to rebuild the relationship between the parent(s), and child(ren).
Research has shown that children and young people who are witness to conflict and/or domestic abuse between their care givers are more likely to experience difficulties such as disengagement form education, becoming actively involved in crimes and particularly gang culture. These young people may then go on to have children themselves at a young age and may become involve in theory own parental conflict due to the modelling of behaviours from their own childhood experience.
It is proven that it is not the separation that causes the harm but how their parents engage with each other and manage the separation.
The Separated Parents Programme ( written and produced by CAFCASS), is a programme usually ordered by court bit is also available privately . This four-module online course is not designed to teach you how to parent but to have the chance to do something positive for your children.
If you are interested in any of these programmes or would like more information, please contact us via email at info@integrum.org.uk

Any agreement that you reach during mediation can be made legally binding, provided all parties agree. This needs to be done by way of preparing a ‘draft consent order’ to be placed into the court – including as part of your divorce or separation agreement. This will also be the final document you place into the court when applying for your final divorce order (Decree Absolute). We are able to provide you with this service for you to place into the court for them to approve it. If your agreement is not legally binding, a court cannot enforce it if there are any issues later.
A consent order is a legal document that confirms your agreement. It explains how you’re going to divide up assets like:
It can also include arrangements for maintenance, including child maintenance
Please enquire if you wish to discuss this further.
